The Brand New Harley-Davidson® Street Rod™ is Ready to Ride

Aug. 30 2018 Miscellaneous By Barnes Harley-Davidson®

Nothing compares to the feeling of flying through traffic and making the other motorists seem like they’re standing still. But not every motorcycle is equipped to accomplish this task. Some don’t have enough power, and others don’t have the agility and handling needed to make bold moves. The all-new 2017 Harley-Davidson Street Rod™ does it all and then some. This motorcycle is the culmination of a better engine, better suspension, and a new style that tells people you mean business. This is a bike for riders who aren’t afraid of anything.

Barnes Harley-Davidson is located in Langley, British Columbia and carries all the latest from Harley-Davidson. If you live near Surrey or Vancouver, British Columbia, stop by our dealership or call ahead and schedule a test ride.

Style and Attitude with Dark Custom™ Design

Attitude is what has always separated Harley-Davidson from the pack, and the 2017 Street Rod has attitude for days. You can customize the look yourself, but the designers did such a good job with the factory look that most people might think it’s custom. It all comes down to the Dark Custom™ design, which substitutes aggressive, blacked out components for the classic chrome. This bike motors past like a dark flash, absorbing more light than it reflects. The Screamin’ Eagle® Buckshot Exhaust screams out that trademark Harley-Davidson exhaust sound. Down on the pavement, the spoke wheels are finished with glossy black. Lighting the way is a Daymaker Projector LED headlight, which has a crisp, bright beam in even the worst conditions. Leaning into corners and steering around obstacles is comfortable and easy with Diamond Black hand grips and footpegs. The drag style handlebars look great fitted with the bar-end mirrors.

Peak Performance from a More Efficient Engine

Developing a motorcycle that can handle well and explode out of corners requires balancing weight, power, and suspension to create a machine that functions as one instead of feeling like cheaply cobbled together components. The engineers first attacked the engine, coming up with a 750 cc High Output Revolution X™ motor that develops mind-boggling power with a 12:1 compression ratio and 9,000 rpm redline. This more extreme compression ratio helps fuel burn more completely and explode with more force.

Suspension is key to making sure that power is controllable. The piggyback reservoir system on the rear suspension helps to create a smooth ride in which power is always on the pavement. Up front, a unique front design utilizes 43 mm inverted front forks for precise control and turning. This bike adapts easily to any riding situation you throw at it, from long trips to short, fast commutes through busy streets.

The History of Harley-Davidson

Harley-Davidson is one of America’s most well-known brands, as recognizable as Coca-Cola or McDonalds. The reason for this is that Harley-Davidson has developed loyal fans that helped the company not only survive, but thrive with exciting designs and innovative engineering. Founded in 1903, Harley-Davidson is one of only two motorcycles to survive both the Great Depression and The Great Recession. These bikes have been featured prominently in books, television shows, and movies. The totally unique look, sound, and performance of Harley-Davidson motorcycles isn’t something that can be faked or imitated. So are you ready for a test drive now?
